Co-Ex Grants

The South Bend Alumni Association believes that Co-Ex Grants create a contract for excellence by supporting co-curricular and extra-curricular activities at South Bend schools. Student participation in these activities provides an incentive to stay in school and helps to improve classroom performance.

Co-Ex Grant Initiative

Co-curricular and extra-curricular activities provide positive peer groups, develop leadership and teamwork skills, and foster self-discipline and improved time management. Exceptional activities and extraordinary mentors can impact children for their whole lives! Such activities bring out the best in students, give them the tools to excel, and also serve as an effective support system for at-risk students. Our contract for excellence sets high expectations for young people to also achieve in school and to participate in community service.

Grants are available to support fine arts and performing arts activities, athletic teams, academic competitions and other school sponsored co-curricular and extracurricular activities that are not supported by tax dollars.

Harrison students learned how to assemble and fix bikes, follow directions, and use tools as they rehabbed bikes for their community.
