Elijah Anderson

Elijah Anderson, a 1962 graduate of Central High School, is the William K. Lanman Professor of Sociology at YalEA-Photoe University. He is considered one of the leading urban ethnographers in the United States. At Yale, he teaches sociology and directs the Urban Ethnography Project. He has written books and articles on the challenges of inner-city life. An article in Yale’s Alumni Magazine described Anderson as “perhaps the most important figure to have worked in the field of urban ethnography since (W.E.B.) Dubois.” Anderson has been an adviser to a variety of government agencies, including the White House and Congress. (2015)
