Funding

The South Bend Education Alliance has established several programs to help promote excellence and enrichment by supporting students, teachers and administrators at South Bend schools.

?

For Schools

SBCSC teachers and administrators have multiple funding opportunities to enhance student learning and classroom experiences. Grants and resources are available to support innovative projects, classroom supplies, professional growth, and field trips. Teachers can create Wishlists to help fill specific classroom needs, while administrators can fund school-wide initiatives that align with Indiana K–12 standards.

These programs are designed to help educators bring their ideas to life, track impact, and share results. Learn more and apply through the links below.

Teacher Grants

SBCSC teachers can apply for $500–$1,500 grants to fund projects that boost student learning and meet Indiana K–12 standards. Track your impact and share the results—help your classroom shine!

Teacher Wishlists

Indiana teachers spend an average of $500 each year on classroom supplies. SBCSC teachers can create a Wishlist of items (under $300) for community members to support.

Teacher Store

The Teacher Store provides FREE classroom supplies to SBCSC teachers! Available year-round while supplies last.

AEP Foundation Elementary Field Trip Fund

The AEP Foundation Elementary Field Trip Fund makes imagination-expanding learning experiences more accessible for local students by providing funding for field trips for Elementary Schools in the SBCSC.

Professional Development Grants

SBCSC Teachers and Administrators can receive funding to participate in events or trainings to enhance your professional growth and positively impact students and colleagues.

Principal Grants

SBCSC principals can apply for Principal Grants of up to $1,000 to support projects that enhance student learning and align with Indiana K–12 standards. Only five grants are available each year.

For Extracurriculars

Grants are available to support fine arts and performing arts activities, athletic teams, academic competitions and other school sponsored co-curricular and extracurricular activities that are not supported by tax dollars. The SBEA believes that supporting co-curricular and extra-curricular activities at South Bend schools creates a contract of excellence for students.

Student participation in these activities provides an incentive to stay in school and helps to improve classroom performance, and students are asked to give back to the community through service.

Co-Ex Grants

Co-curricular and extracurricular activities help students build leadership, teamwork, and self-discipline . Our Co-Ex Grants support programs like fine arts, athletics, academic competitions, and other school-sponsored activities not funded by tax dollars.

Apparel Grants

Apparel Funding helps school clubs and teams, from chess to robotics to sports, get customized apparel to build team spirit and pride. By covering costs that budgets often can’t, it ensures all students can feel included and united in their school activities.

For the Community

Sponsorships

The SBEA partners with local organizations to support events that enhance student activities, expand learning, and promote community service. Past partners include the Civic Theater, Symphony Orchestra, South Bend Art Museum, and Morris Performing Arts Center.

For Students

Scholarships

Each year, the SBEA awards three $5,000 scholarships to graduating seniors of the SBCSC who have been accepted into higher education, demonstrated academic excellence, engaged in extracurricular activities and service, and show financial need.
