SBAA Co-Ex Grants in Action
SBAA works directly with each and every school within the SBCSC to support co-curricular and extra-curricular activities by providing them with funding via Co-Ex Grants. In turn, the students perform services throughout the community.
You can help us support South Bend students by donating.
Riley Athletics Gets BoxOut Sports Software
Graphics From Boxout Sports
Because of generous donations from the community, the SBAA was able to assist the Riley High School Athletics Department in purchasing a membership to BoxOut Sports. This membership allows them to easily share photos and information about athletes and team events.
Using BoxOut, Riley Athletics has started two new initiatives. Firstly, they began a canned food drive. These goods were donated directly to Riley families in need. Each family was grateful to receive three boxes of food! What a fantastic way to support the Wildcat family. The SBAA is so proud of them.
Adams Cross Country Gets New Athletic Equipment
Adams boys and girls cross-country teams were also Co-Ex Grant recipients. In exchange for the purchase of athletic equipment, the teams helped with cleanup after DTSB Art Beat. We all know what a large event Art Beat is, and the cleanup is no easy feat.
Thanks for your hard work, students!
Riley High School Family Day
The Athletics Department at Riley also participated in the inaugural family day. On this day, Riley High School was open for tours so the community could see all that the school has to offer.
SBAA Hall of Fame Dinner & Induction

SBCSC Alumni & Friends Event
SBAA celebrated its first-ever Alumni & Friends Night at Four Winds Field with South Bend Cubs. Kris Arizmendi Choinacky, executive director, threw out the first pitch alongside the legendary Kerry Wood!
We had a great turnout, with support from our Superintendent Dr. C. Todd Cummings, school board member Stephanie Ball and SBAA board members. Thank you for supporting SBAA’s mission and public education. We can’t wait to do this again next year!

“The South Bend Alumni Association high school websites will be 7 years old in July 2022. The seven public schools have over 101,800 classmate names and senior photos posted, with more being added each day.
The goal is to provide means for all classmates to connect individually with private or public postings as well as collectively by announcing reunions and related activities including posting upcoming classmate birthdays as well as obituaries.
An important aspect of classmate profiles is the recording of high school memories and later life in college, travels, military service, employment, marriage and children etc. These stories are very important to your fellow classmates, your family and future generations. Give some thought to review your story and update it. Your grandchildren will be very happy to read them.
You can leave comments in the “In Memory” section for a classmate, however, they will not be reading it. You may want to send the message now while you are both “above ground”. It’s like sending a smile electronically. They may be waiting for a hug or your good news.
We depend on yearbooks donated to scan and store in our reference libraries. All South Bend Schools for all years. Also, hundreds of our school newspapers have been scanned and searchable. Please donate any that you may find.”
