Congratulations to the 2024 Scholarship Recipients!

Evelyn Ringer
South Bend Alumni Association Scholarship
Evelyn is a graduate of Riley High School and will be majoring in Animal Science at the University of Missouri. She has already been pre-admitted to the university’s Veterinary School and will be attending graduate school there.
During her time at Riley, she was a four-year varsity member in both soccer and tennis. She also served as class president all four years and held the position of vice president of the student council during her senior year. Evelyn dedicated four years to the Riley band, culminating in receiving the prestigious Sousa award, which recognizes the top player in the band.
“I am immensely grateful for my counselor, Ms. Cruse, and all my teachers, notably Mrs. Simoni, who wrote countless letters of recommendation and guided me on my path to college. I feel incredibly blessed to have such a supportive community around me, aiding me on my educational journey.”

Annasophia Martinez Blarasin
Connie S. Varga Scholarship
Annasophia Martínez Blarasin is from Venezuela. She lived for six years in Barcelona, Spain, and arrived in the United States a year ago.
Now a senior at John Adams High School, Annasophia will attend Saint Mary’s College to pursue a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in International Business.
She is most grateful for the volunteer experiences that she has been a part of in the past year, stating that they changed her life. In particular, volunteering with St. Margaret’s House has greatly impacted her maturity as a woman and personal growth.
Annasophia is very proud to have achieved this goal and to have won the Connie S. Varga Scholarship.

Tyler Marek
Jack M. Champaigne Scholarship
Tyler Marek is a senior at Riley High School, where he plans to attend Purdue University to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering.
Tyler has been involved in countless activities during his time at Riley, including tennis, theatre, 4-H, student government, and many other areas of interest, ensuring that he always stays busy and makes the most out of his career. He serves as the treasurer of National Honors Society, president of Drama Club, soon-to-be president of the International Thespian Society, captain of the boys tennis team, and recipient of the Kiwanis award. With a passion for theater, Tyler has performed in numerous productions, showcasing his talent and dedication to the arts.
